Just a Few Questions...

Hello everyone!

I'm Emily and I live in Portland, Oregon (US). I'm new to the community, but I've been a long-time chick lit fan. In fact, just a few days ago, my best friend came over because she INSISTED I clean out my book shelves and sell some of my books. So I did, and to reward myself, I bought a few new books. I'm headed off to France on Tuesday (read: 20 hours on plane + 6 hour layover), and I didn't want to drag all of the books I bought with me. Here's where you guys come in. If you, or someone you know, has read any of these books, I'd love to hear your imput!

The books I have are;
Bergdorf Blondes - Plum Sykes
The Ivy Chronicles - Karen Quinn
Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen

I'll probably bring three along with me and pack the other. I have a short attention span on planes (something about being crammed into a flying tin can with a couple hundred other people), so if I don't like one, get bored, etc., it'll be nice to have a pack-up. Of course I'll have magazines, my iPod (which I plan to load with Gossip Girl episodes), and I should sleep, but a light, fluffy book would be lovely. Any ideas are appreciated!

I'm not a huge Austen fan, but Bergdorf Blondes was amazing! Have fun on your trip! <3

I've never been big on Austen either, but I'm always told that I need to give it a second chance, etc., so I'll give it a shot. But I may leave that behind this trip. :)
I know this post is old but...

I loved Bergdorf Blondes even though it did not get good reviews on Amazon. (A lot of things I like, Amazon gave really bad reviews to) Which is why I don't listen so much to the reviews, but just in case it received a very VERY poor rating, I check the books out of the library in case they do suck. ;) Then I am not stuck with a book I'll never read again. But this book was awesome. I could not put it down and didn't catch on to the foreshadowing to know what was going to happen at the end. I would totally read this again, and was so sad to get to the end of the book because I wanted to read more and more about the characters.

Did you enjoy the book? I assume by how old the post was that you probably got a chance to read it.
I did actually get a chance to read it.

And...it was amazing! The characters were funny and related to people I know quite well. That's probably why I enjoyed it so much. Qualities the characters have are the same as friends of mine. It's hard to explain, you know? But yes, I thought the book was excellent! I don't really go by other people's opinions very often, unless they're good friends of mine and we have a lot in common, because I guess I just have a different standpoint than the average reader! I love the fluffy stuff; I plow through enough of the heavy material at school!

Even if it was late, thanks for the review!
