Review (kind of): Dixie Cash

So, I just finished reading My Heart May Be Broken, but My Hair Still Looks Great by Dixie Cash. After the first few pages, I felt really disconnected with the characters, and at the end, I still feel disconnected! It's a wonderful idea, and could have been a good book (I'm still wondering what the people who raved about it were reading), but there was no character development. I felt like one of the main characters was actually two different people, depending on who was around, and the main character felt really flat and one dimensional. Oh, and there was also the issue that the title had essentially nothing to do with the content in the book.

Has anyone read any of her other books? I got it because the title hooked me...maybe this particular one is a fluke? ::hopes::
Eh?

Which would you choose?

I'm sitting in an airport with 4 hours until my connecting flight and I just finished a book but I have two more with me. They are Good Grief by Lolly Winston and The Other Side of the Story by Marian Keyes. Which would you choose?

Help me decide! I've read the Amazon.com reviews and I still can't pick!

Anyone have any of these books they'd be willing to share?

I'm looking for the following books and was wondering if anyone had them on their list of books ready to be passed on...I x-posted this to the book crossing list but I don't know if anyone on here is also on there.  I'd appreciate it.

Sheri McInnis

Has anyone read Devil May Care by Sheri McInnis?

Because I'm a little confused by the ending.

Marian Keyes

Marian Keyes is my favourite chick-lit author and I've just finished reading 'The Other Side Of The Story'... I think it's my favourite of her books so far! Although it didn't quite end how I had hoped.
Which is yours?

Just a Few Questions...

Hello everyone!

I'm Emily and I live in Portland, Oregon (US). I'm new to the community, but I've been a long-time chick lit fan. In fact, just a few days ago, my best friend came over because she INSISTED I clean out my book shelves and sell some of my books. So I did, and to reward myself, I bought a few new books. I'm headed off to France on Tuesday (read: 20 hours on plane + 6 hour layover), and I didn't want to drag all of the books I bought with me. Here's where you guys come in. If you, or someone you know, has read any of these books, I'd love to hear your imput!

The books I have are;
Bergdorf Blondes - Plum Sykes
The Ivy Chronicles - Karen Quinn
Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen

I'll probably bring three along with me and pack the other. I have a short attention span on planes (something about being crammed into a flying tin can with a couple hundred other people), so if I don't like one, get bored, etc., it'll be nice to have a pack-up. Of course I'll have magazines, my iPod (which I plan to load with Gossip Girl episodes), and I should sleep, but a light, fluffy book would be lovely. Any ideas are appreciated!

The Undomestic Goddess - Sophie Kinsella

I just finished reading this last night. I started months ago and put it down. Just picked it back up yesterday morning and finished the book.

It was a good read.  A few parts kind dragged and repeated itself, but overall a nice story and funny too.

I guess I can finally read the Shopaholic series now. I was unsure if I wanted to read them at all, but now I am thinking I will give them a shot?

Opinions on the Shopaholic Series or Undomestic Goddess?

(no subject)

Hey everyone. Anyone ever read Love Walked In by Marisa De Los Santos? And it is a good read? I bought it spontaneously today, because I thought I might enjoy it. I started it, but its been a little rough for me to get through the first few pages. It may just be because I was tired while reading it, but I'd like to see what you guys think before I really try and get through it. Thanks!
